Nature
and travel photographer Renato Valterza grew up in Piedmont (ITALY)
with a love for the outdoors. Renato first picked up a camera
when he was fourteen and started in publishing his own first
pictures while completing a degree in engineering at the University
    of Torino.

Later, he improved his knowledge and skill in photography
attending different workshops held by leading photographers like
Robert Sisson (N.G.S.), Ernst Haas, and Pete Turner. In the '80s,
he travelled extensively around the world documenting the vanishing
nature of many countries such as Madagascar, Poland, Siberia
    etc...
Renato sees his fundamental role as a photographer both as
a conservationist and an artist. As a conservationist, he is
a regular contributor of the best regional magazine in Italy
devoted to parks and environment (Piedmont Parchi). His nearly
40 reportages and articles for the magazine have focused primarily
on natural history and conservation effort in Italy. As an artist,
he uses the warm richly textured light in nature to capture on
film intimate and often fleeting moments few of us can see. http://www.redvalterzaphotographers.net/
In 1999, Renato Valterza was deeply involved in the Millennium
Photo Project (the biggest ever done on the web) acting as the
national coordinator of the project in Italy and as a successful
Photographer. Click here to learn more about Renato's work
    with the Project.
One of Renato's most important projects in progress is a book
about gardens, the title will be "Garden's Lights".
Renato's son, Daniele, is associated to the company and is
working as an assistant with his father, Renato.
