Born in Puerto Rico, of Cuban and Puertorican parents. His interest in photography started when he was 13 years old, and a new Cannon Snappy. Capturing images of his beautifull Caribbean Island he developed a taste for Landscapes, the Environment and the Architectural Designs of Colonial Buildings.
In the year 2001, after finishing his BS in Biology he moved to San Antonio TX. He has spent these years traveling thru the Continental US, Europe and Asia as a environmental scientist and consultant.
His work has been exibited in art galleries in San Antonio, TX. Rafael's photo documentaries and expos include work done at The World Trade Center Recovery, NY; Shuttle Columbia recovery, TX; and Hurricanes in the Gulf Coast including Katrina and Rita. His WTC photo exhibit helped raise awareness towards the thousands of first responders that are sick from occupational exposures to environmental hazards during the recovery. Most of his work is B/W and positive color film. Although he has transitioned to the digital world, his work will always carry a film signature.
The galleries presented here include photos from Alaska, Japan, Spain and Puerto Rico.
