About Me

I was born in Scotland and currently live in West Wales, UK. Much of my early childhood was spent in the USA and later back in Britain. I spent some time working in Africa as a qualified Land Rover mechanic before returning to Britain to undertake a Degree in Editorial Photography at University of Brighton. In 2000 I undertook a Postgraduate diploma in Documentary Photography at The Centre for Photographic Research, University of Wales College Newport (UWCN).

About My Work

Moyrah is somewhat best described as an anomaly, probably the result of her own transient history, and her photographic works follow suit. She works documentary, mostly in landscape. A predominant feature in the work is they contain the notion of potential, notion of openness and notion of silent dialog, She is engaging; by stepping back she is trying to represent it by looking at the view, however she is actually photographing Indicative of photography. There is something about the images that both conforms to a pictorial convention and then also reject it in some way. The pictorial fits with a wide free ranging style, because by definition, that gives it distinct parameters: like the ones that have a slight mystery in them, some that are very difficult to orientate what you are looking at. They are indicative of sensibility and a sense of feeling they don’t address, or link a social issue, the open construct allows the reader to read their own issue and the desire to want more.
