My love for the outdoors took me on a journey which lead to aspirations of capturing with camera the magnificence of where I live in the heart of the great Rocky Mountains. And because I have a tendency to turn a simple impulse into a full-blown passion, here I am!
I was new to the technical side of photography until the digital bug bit me over three years ago. I began with a Canon 10D and several L series lenses. Almost two years ago I migrated to a 1D Mark II and I haven’t looked back since. My desire to find and share what I see came to fruition as the ever-increasing technical expertise dovetailed nicely with my ability to look beyond the mundane and capture the extraordinary.
From my backyard in Box Elder County, Utah to the wilds of the west, and as far away as West Texas and Manitowoc, Wisconsin, I have found incredible visions of this vast place we call Earth. I have ventured into these places (most of the time with my lovely wife), as well as hundreds of others, where God’s amazing creations are found for the taking – from an orange ladybug on a deep-green alfalfa leaf, to regal Tundra Swans in winter flight, to the majesty of the Ox Bow Bend on the Snake River, to the incredible stories told in the wonderlands of Southern Utah, to a historic lighthouse on Lake Michigan – and to many points in between.
I hope that what I create visually will give both pleasure and meaning to all those who share these places and see these things with me. And maybe some of the mundane in their lives can become extraordinary. My work is printed on the finest quality paper with archival quality ink so the memories shared can last for long time to come.
