I Have always loved the African bush - which led me to study Nature Conservation, I was fortunate to be able to do my Practical year of studies in the Kruger National Park - While my main duties were taking Game Drives, I also had the opportunity to Study the African Wild Dogs in Kruger - spending regular evenings at the dens was the highlight of my year. The photographic opportunities were vast unfortunately without photographic knowledge the photographs were never as great as the original scenes. On completing my Diploma I went on to work in Mana Pools - Zimbabwe as a habituator/production assistant with a Wildlife film company working with BBC and my love for photography developed. (All my photographs are done in a natural environment).
I returned to South Africa and studied Photography at the National College of Photography in Pretoria. I joined the professional Photographers Of South Africa Association in 1997 - Having a background knowledge of animal behavior and a passion for the African bush, I chose Wildlife photography as my speciality. I worked as a freelance photographer for a few years. A desire to travel then led me to work as a photographer with Carnival Cruise Lines (USA).
I returned to South Africa at the end of 2001, and studied a diploma in Digital Graphic design. I am presently involved with the photography, design, and production of brochures, calendars, information boards etc. I am privileged to get a lot of opportunities to go to the natural areas of South Africa and am using this time to build up stock photographs.
