Profotos Staff Evaluation:
Bernard Mendoza's work as
a documentary photographer can be related to that of some of
photojournalism's greatest contributors. Our staff was very impressed
with the way Bernard "framed" his subjects and with
the power his essays convey toward his audience.
Bernard is a master documentary photojournalist in every sense
of the term. His work has been exhibited in dozens of galleries
in the U.S., and around the world. Especially powerful, are the
images included Bernard's essay "Portrait of a City Hospital."
Our staff found the images in this series to be heart wrenching,
while inspiring at the same time.
The times and stories of the every day lives of every day
people. This is what Bernard does best in his photo-documentary
