Documenting the horrors and realities of war on film is probably something most people would like to stay well away from. There are, however, those photographers who venture into war-stricken areas to document and photograph the harshness of these soils. Andres Puefke is one of these photographers. The images in Andreas' portfolio reflect the realities of war, through their effects on society and the civilian population. While other photojournalists may photograph the front lines of battle, we have found that the majority of Andreas' work comes from behind the front lines.

One of the most poignant messages in armed conflict is the effect it has on the civilian population. The images in Andreas' portfolio clearly document the lives of civilians, whose worlds have been torn apart by conflict and wars around them.
