The magical effect of light on the Ohio landscape can only be fully appreciated when one has become aware of, and sensitive to, the unique characteristics of each of the four seasons - so distinct and separate here in the Midwestern United States. Steven Spielberg once stated that "light is life." This is also how I approach my work with landscape and nature photography. My camera is my key that unlocks the door to the pleasing compositions and arrangement of elements that nature herself has already placed before us.
My passion for nature photography began when I was 10 or 11 years old, back during the mid 1970's. Since my younger days, exploring the Ohio woodlands with camera in hand, I've served as a U.S. Marine, studied as a college student, worked as a marketing manager, returned to school as a graduate student, taught college courses in communications and expressed my impressions of the world as a writer. However, the one constant in my life has, and always will be, my love for nature photography.
