Brigitte is a native born Austrian. To her credit, she has traveled
through Europe and on occasion has visited countries such as
Cuba, Nicaragua and Lebanon with "AmeriCares", a relief
organization. They, at times, have asked for help and Brigitte has
donated her time and talent to document some of the wonderful
work that they do around the world.
Brigitte came to America in 1986, to pursue her love of photography. Her first job in the States was, an Austrian correspondent in L.A. for "Rennbahn Express", a music magazine.
She enhanced some of her skills working for a children's photo studio, and went on to designing set cards for musicians, models and actors for a professional studio, and then on to "Playboy Magazine",
where she assisted centerfold photographers in testing and set design.
After freelancing for, "The Austrian News Magazine", "The Hollywood Reporter", "The L.A. Times" and "AP", she joined the NEW YORK POST n 1997, where she has distinguished herself as a news/features photographer.
Her assignments at the Post are diversified, to say the least. The broad spectrum of a large city is her expertise...............:
Politicians, Movie Stars, Fashion, Real Estate, Advertising, Commercial pictures, Features, Spot News........., pictures depicting; destruction, new developments, joy, sadness, fund raisers, protests, the first baby born in the "New Year", the 5 year old killed by a "hit and run" driver..........,
Rock stars in concert halls earning hundreds of thousands, the
guitar player on a subway platform trying to earn a buck..........!
Brigitte has a natural ability in her work, to portray the truth
or create illusion, let you experience the fear, or feel the love.
"Digital imaging", has changed the values of "space and time" in the world of photography. Using cyberspace and the latest digital equipment, Brigitte has been selling her pictures around the world, to various publications, agencies and people who have been touched by
some of the images that she has captured on camera.
Some of Brigitte's work is currently being exhibited at the "Library of Congress", in Washington, D.C.
Brigitte is credited with contributing eleven pictures in a newly released book by Maggie Haberman and Jeane MacIntosh titled, "HELD CAPTIVE" The Kidnapping and Rescue of Elizabeth Smart.
One of Brigitte's pictures recently made the magazine and book cover of TIME ANNUAL 2003, "A Year To Remember" collector's edition, on sale now.
September 11, 2001, "is a day that will live in infamy"...............Brigitte was there, that day......................!!
