Autumn's interest in photography began with an introductory course in high school. She pursued photography as a hobby off and on for the next ten years, until the birth of her first child. With a new subject that was so close to her heart, she discovered a love for photographing babies and children that surpassed any type of work she had done before. She began to photograph the children of her friends and neighbors whenever she could. Almost a year later, her love for children's portraiture turned into a business.
When photographing children, her goal is to capture a moment or expression that will speak to the parent. She wants to give them an image of their children that will help them remember not only how they looked at that time, but who they were. She does this by relying on props and poses as little as possible and giving the child plenty of space to be themselves.
Autumn was featured on an episode of The Learning Channel's A Baby Story and HBO's upcoming series Photography Close-Up. She is a member of Professional Photographers of California, San Fernando Valley Professional Photographers, Santa Clarita Valley Artist's Association, and Santa Clarita Valley Professional Photographers, which she co-founded with another photographer.
She passes on her love of child photography by teaching workshops, where she shows parents how to photograph their own children from the heart.
