Facing the challenges of making it in a new market.
When my wife, an IT professional, was offered a special project in Northern California, I thought naught of the many challenges a new market can pose; so I just chucked my successful freelance practice of 20 years in the Middle East and in Vancouver, Canada and headed for the Bay area.
Getting a break in a mature market like San Francisco is a big deal. I know it's going to happen and it's a matter of time. I have the tools that it takes: the honed vision, the mastered craft, and the savvy. And what I believe a cool book of images. So all I need is the patience and the strength to survive the wait.
While I'm doing the hang on I keep photographing anything that walks in my studio. These days: mostly models who want new images for their portfolio. Can't complain, eh?
