From the moment I shot my first photo and printed it in the darkroom for my class assignment in college I was hooked. Actually, photography has been a daily part of my life since childhood. Some of my earliest memories are of images featured in LIFE magazine and National Geographic. I still spend hours looking at images. My career has allowed me to photograph many of our greatest talents, from George Burns and Bob Hope to Dizzy Gillespie and Lionel Hampton, Neil Diamond to Huey Lewis, and Diana Krall to Dianne Reeves.
My favorite subjects to photograph are people in black and white. I am attracted to the unobstructed simplicity that black and white allows. I am also an experienced sports photographer from which I learned to anticipate the decisive moment. My favorite format to shoot is 35mm as it allows for more spontaneity but I am experienced in 8X10, 4X5, and 120. I feel I have been isolated in my remote state of Idaho and have a deep appreciation for the Internet, for its ability to allow anyone to showcase his or her talents and get noticed.
Some of my clients have been Cowgirl Chocolates, Ednetics, American Profile Magazine, Student Leader Magazine, and Idaho the University Magazine. I have also had images in Downbeat and Jazz Times Magazines.
