My wife Connie and I share an intense passion for photography that started in 1972. We were both in the U.S. Air Force stationed in Tokyo, Japan. The time there afforded us quite an opportunity to see places we had never seen before. We tried to capture the Japanese landscapes with our instamatics and a Yashica rangefinder but failed miserably. We became students of landscape photography and, through the years, have developed our own style, combining vibrant color and restful subject matter. We love to show the extraordinary beauty of the natural world in which we live. In our images, we try to evoke the quiet moods of sunrise and sunset, the contemplative repetition of natural patterns, the serenity of flowing water and the majesty of mountain and forest. Living in the Pacific Northwest provides us with incredible opportunities to capture images of nature in all her glory. We both have an enormous respect for Mother Nature and that respect can be found in our photography.
While landscape and nature are the primary focus of our photography, commercial work, including architectural interiors and exteriors, floral still life, product shots, and corporate/industrial round out our capabilities.
Our latest push in the photographic world is to become accomplished in the digital realm. We acquired a Nikon D1X to supplement our CoolPix 990 and can testify that the medium is absolutely stunning. Several of my local clients have requested that I shoot nothing but digital for them. It does look like digital is here to stay.
