Profotos Staff Evaluation:

Australian photographer, Rob Gray, has been photographing the outback areas of Australia with large format view cameras for several years. Prior to his personal fine art work in the outback, Rob traveled extensively as a photographer throughout Tahiti, Panama, the USA, UK, Europe, New Zealand, Africa and much of Australia. His experience in professional photography includes working as a darkroom technician in London, a commercial photographer in Perth, a stock photographer for Globe Photos, New York and a newspaper photographer in Grafton. He also wrote and/or photographed articles for travel magazines on subjects such as London, Paris, African wildlife and bushwalking.

During the past several years, Rob has shifted his interest in the field to one which includes additional artistic vision, through natural images of the Australian landscape. The images included in Rob's Profotos portfolio are from this new vision he has in photography and they are absolutely incredible! The fine details and beautiful compositions captured by Rob's 4x5 view cameras are without a doubt, some of the best in the world.

The time and patience needed to create images like the ones seen here, is a trait we all could use a little more of. Rob sometimes spends days in the remote parts of the Australian outback, waiting for the right moment and correct lighting to create his masterpieces.
