Tyagan Miller photographs for advertising, corporate, and editorial clients world wide. His commercial work can be viewed on this Profotos web site. Tyagan also photographs in the tradition of social documentary photojournalism. He has produced extended photo essays on a number of cultural and economic issues including race, religion, high-risk youth, aging, and labor. Tyagan’s photography and interviews with him have been featured in Photographer’s Forum Magazine (11/99) and Photo District News (4/00). In December 2000 a selection of images and texts from his work in progress, entitled “Covenant: Scenes from an African American Church,” was the featured essay on Dirck Halstead’s web site, The Digital Journalist (www.digitaljournalist.org). A touring exhibition of the completed photo essay will begin in 2002 at the Indianapolis Museum of Art.
