Biography/Statement

Accomplished photographer and Florida native, Helyn Davenport, expands on her 25 years of award winning photography to include digital manipulation of her work. Combining years of dedication to promoting the industry, the appreciation of the arts, and leadership to art-related societies, Helyn delves into the virtual world of the Internet. She is a member of the International Association of Digital Fine Art Printers and serves as President of Pixiport.

A Psychology and Business major from St. Petersburg Junior College in St. Petersburg, Florida, Helyn's work has evolved from her journey through self-discovery and her gift of visual expression to one of today's most widely acclaimed photographic artists. Each of her art pieces express her individuality and artistic talents. With a diversified background that has included Television Production, Marketing and Counseling. Helyn's work has been featured in numerous publications and galleries, winning competitions for her photographic work, has been very rewarding and has enabled Helyn to make numerous contacts around the world.

Description of Pixiport

Pixiport, a "Portal To The Arts" is an online venue for photographic artists to showcase their works and offer educational and informational opportunities to art in photography to the public.

This "Portal To The Arts" is facilitated through the web site, www.pixiport.com with the cooperation of many leading photographic artists under the direction of Helyn Davenport, an award winning, INPA Honorary Fellow, photographic artist, who's work is a mainstay on the site.

Each month different international photographic artists are showcased. The site is available in twenty different languages, offering true international access. Various styles of art in photography are featured. A popular section called "Bob's Portal", written by Bob Snell, offers link information to other sites within the arts of interest.

"PixiPort's Lightroom", a technical forum is one of the great educational features on the site each month. It is written and edited by top international photography experts and deals with the new technologies available together with tradition standards. This forum offers educational resources and tips to photographers wishing to learn and enhance their own skills.

"Art Site News", a mainstay feature of the site, is updated daily with international art related news. Our own local community news with added insights by Sequoyah. Read inspirational insights into the artists works on PixiPort and stroll with her as she visits other online art galleries. An additional new feature is the "Portal to Poetry".

One very popular educational feature each month is the guest lecturer section. The topics covered are on photography art related subject matter, written by the guest. The nature of their material will vary. These guests are the tops in their field and convey their insights and passions along with sharing their knowledge and expertise with the public.

Internationally recognized photo artists Greg Summers and Steve Bingham are experts that appear as regular guests on the site. Their topics include information on both the techniques and emotions available in photographic art that can be utilized by aspiring and experienced artists alike.

A still growing and popular feature on the site is Pixiport's Roundtable. This is an educational forum of photo artists with professional, commercial and art photography backgrounds, discussing various photo/art topics. It is moderated by Helyn Davenport.

"My Two Cents " a bi-monthly feature written by Victor O'Beirne, a master Giclee printer and photographer offers tremendous insights as he shares his knowledge and expertise through this section. He too is the owner of Blue Heron Editions which recently formed a partnership with Pixiport creating PixiPort-BlueHeron to further bringing together portals of art.

"Point-Counterpoint" too is a recently added feature with Victor O'Beirne and Steve Bingham debating selected pertinent issues in an educational and informative manner.

Showcasing the work by "Fine Art Photographers" to the eyes of the general public, for appreciation and education through this online exhibition is our ongoing goal. Presently underway, is an effort of bringing together the works of leading photographic artists for exhibition in a real time gallery creating a further "Portal To The Arts".
