Carolyn Nye, of Wilmington, Delaware, has been
involved in photography since she was thirteen. Now, at twenty-three,
she is pursuing a career in photography.
Carolyn works in a number of photographic mediums including black-and-white,
color, digital and emulsion transfers. Her work spans several styles,
but most often, especially in her emulsion transfers, she works in a surreal
style. Her subjects can sometimes be disturbing.
She also likes to explore patterns in daily life.
She most often photographs when she encounters feelings of any extreme,
in an attempt to clarify these emotions for herself. Carolyn sometimes
makes these emotions the focus of her work, but sometimes the process of
shooting is all that is needed for lucidity.
