The camera sees in an artificial manner and it is my job as an artist to transform what the camera captures to what the mind and heart see.
To achieve this I employ a process whereby enlarged, partially hand painted negatives are exposed on watercolour paper, as well as some handmade papers are coated with light sensitive chemicals and watercolour pigments. The multiple exposures of different coloured pigments, are modified by painting and drawing with watercolours.
These visual editorials are embellished with a system of presentation that incorporate cabinets, frames, containers and found objects to frame the work. The surrounding elements contribute to the transformation and add a sculptural quality.
