English Biography
Javier Salmones is a native of Santander, situated next to the thousand-year-old cave paintings of Altamira's caves, in the beautiful and green region of Cantabria, in Northern Spain.
I received a license in Social Laws.
The attraction for the world of the photography was born some time ago in Barcelona, during the 1970's. I discovered the world of photography through a woman, who was an old-hand at the practice. My first camera was a Nikon F2 Photomic. With the woman's help, I learned to photograph sensations, colors and silences; definitively, she taught me to separate the light of the darkness.
My suitcases are full of ridiculous fractions of time, of thousandths of a second, stolen with premeditation and perfidy the eternal arms of time. In each and every one of the styles and photographic plots I sit down very comfortably.
I Am charmed with photographing architecture, landscapes, sports of high competition, portrait, nature, abstacts, nudes; everything is an image. I am self-taught, creating my own (proper) style of "looking".
My first steps in professional photography began in Barcelona and Madrid, where I worked for a few years. While there, I worked as a photojournalist in collaboration with the prestigious Group Zed in diverse publications. I also collaborated a lot with photographic agencies and banks of images, publishing houses (editorials), etc. Nowadays, I work as an independent photogarpher, where I have my field of action in Catalonya, Madrid and Canary Islands.
My unconditional camera is NIKON - they give me the constant safety of forming with maximum loyalty. Day after day, the images I produce are crossed in my way. I try to see differently the same as the others see................ (or probably do not see.)
