Barry Kinsella is an enigma. He is a highly respected commerical photographer recognized for creating exotic scenes of exclusive lifestyles reserved for the privileged few. His portfolio includes award winning campaigns for resorts, golf course communities, and spas frequented by the bourgeoise around the world.
But there is another equally important type of life-style that he photographs. The life-styles of ral people who have touched himi in a very personal way.
A lifelong student of history, who has always been intrigued by the people of Eastern Europe. He has divided his time over the past nine years between advertising assignments around the world and documentary photography in the newly independent states of the former Soviet Union.
For this ongoing assignment on behalf of The American International Alliance and Premier, Inc., he has created a photographic tribute to the hospitals across the United States and their counterparts in post communist countries. He has used his travels in this part of the world to seek out and photograph the final resting places of Cold War politicians and spies for whom he holds a particular and perhaps sinister facination.
Whatever the assignment, Barry Kinsella brings to it his singular outlook on life. His appreciation of the basic humanity in all people. His engaging sense of fun and his unique photographic style.
