One of the most difficult aspects to master in this area of photography is capturing the action at just the right moment. While many photographers can document the happenings of people and their surroundings, very few can capture the excitement and exhiliration experienced at the height of the action. The "moment" may only last for a few seconds, or even the fraction of a second. To be this good takes a lot of talent, skill, determination, and experience. John Gress has all of these under his belt, as a seasoned journalistic photographer.
