A life long fascination with wild animals and a love of being outdoors and photography have led me to create these images. All of the animals are photographed in their native environment; there are no captive animals from zoos or game farms among these images.
After being the victim of 25 years of education (if you count kindergarten) followed by a 33 year career as a surgeon, I finally have had time to follow my passions.
Being intrigued by computers since their advent in the early 80s has only made my taking up wildlife photography easier. I am a self taught photographer with help from great wildlife photographers / teachers Chas Glatzer, Jess Lee and Mark Picard. I shoot all my images with as raw files with Nikon D2x cameras. I usually carry two D2X cameras into the field with me. One is on my tripod with a Nikon 200-400mm lens, the other I hand hold with a Nikon 70-200mm f2.8 lens on it. I also carry a Nikon 12-24mm lens, a Nikon 24-85mm f2.8 lens with macro capabilities and a Nikon 1.7 teleconverter with me.
With the camera’s ability to freeze a moment in time and preserve it just as it was for generations to see, I hope you enjoy my images.
