 An avid photographer for several years, Kathryn Langsford initially pursued a career in social work; the combination of these two passions lead to her photographic specialty being children. She studied photography at San Diego State University and currently practices her art in various cities across Canada and the U.S.
Kathryn views portraiture as the art of character expression; a true reflection of natural charisma. She aims to capture the many sides of her subject’s personality , either on location or in her Vancouver studio. Shooting her subjects in a friendly, relaxed manner, Kathryn's focus is on the comfort and enjoyment of those she photographs. Years of working with and photographing people has honed her ability to connect easily with her clients, resulting in candid, natural expressions shining through in her finished work.
The WorkKathryn photographs in black and white and processes her work in a darkroom, allowing plenty of room for the creativity which is her signature. She creates portraits of all aspects of love and family: • Pregnancy• Couples • Newborns, Babies and Children • Adults Also available are cards and postcards for all occasions (e.g.: holidays, birth and wedding announcements) made with the image of your choice and complete with a custom inscription. Photographs and cards can be purchased as part of a package or individually and are usually ready within 6-8 weeks of when the order is placed. Photography can also make a wonderful, creative gift idea. Gift certificates (for photo shoots, photography, or cards) are available. Photos by Kathryn is based in Vancouver, British Columbia, but Kathryn often travels to other locations to photograph her clients. Requests from any location are considered, based on there being enough work there to finance the trip ( at least 3 photo shoots).
