 James Prout began photographing at the early age of 14 in Northern Minnesota. His passion for nature has taken him throughout Europe, Australia, Iceland, Canada, Mexico, China, Africa, South America and extensively throughout the United States in pursuit of his images.
Published credits include Sierra Club Calendars, Nature Conservancy Calendars, Teldon Calendars, Impact Calendars. Magazine credits include The Nature Conservancy, Outdoor Life, Field & Stream, Audubon and many other smaller regional publications.
Awards include the Best of Show at the Audubon Art & Photography contest 1996, Honorable mention in the Nature Conservancy Photography contest 1998, Honorable Mention in the endangered spaces contest 1998. Many of his images have also been licensed for use in books, postcards, note cards, playing cards and screen savers. One of his most unique sales include 2 photo's which were licensed for the movie Dr. Dolittle with Eddie Murphy for use on the banners which are seen throughout the movie.
