 Adrian Warren is a biologist, commercial pilot, photographer, and film-maker who has worked worldwide, as Cameraman, Staff Producer for the BBC Natural History Unit, Director in the IMAX giant screen format, and more recently under the auspices of his own Company, Last Refuge Ltd., and also the Adrian Warren Photo Library. He has recently filed patents on a new wing mount camera system designed for aircraft to further develop his interest in aerial filming and photography.
During the course of thirty three years of international travel to remote places, on photographic assignments and making films on wildlife, anthropology, exploration, and adventure, he has seen many changes, and the aim of his Company is to document and archive our disappearing natural world through films, images, and research. As a stills photographer, he works in 35 mm, 6 x 6 cm, and, more recently, in large format up to 10 x 8 inches. His personal photographic archive holds almost 100,000 pictures, with worldwide coverage of wildlife; landscapes; aerials; and peoples. His photographs appear worldwide in books, magazines, advertisements, posters, calendars, greetings cards and many other products. His many awards include a Winston Churchill Fellowship; the Cherry Kearton Medal from the Royal Geographical Society in London; and the Genesis award from the Ark Trust for Conservation; and film awards include an International Prime Time Emmy; and the Golden Eagle Award from New York.
