 Les Voorhis is a nationally published nature and wildlife photographer based in Denver, Colorado. His photographic career began in 1988 in his home state of South Dakota as a photojournalist. He worked for several small town newspapers before returning to school to study commercial photography. After graduation he began working for a Stock Photo Agency as the Photo Editor / Image Library Manager. Realizing that his true love was in the photographic process, building his own stock file and submitting images for publication was the next logical step. Always an avid outdoorsman, concentrating on nature and wildlife was a natural fit.
Les has photographed our nation’s back roads extensively with heavy concentration in the Rocky Mountain West. He often heads off the beaten path to areas rarely traveled by others. Preferring to work from a backpack, his affinity for all things wild and unspoiled has allowed him to find and capture magnificent images on film. Les’ images have appeared in many national and regional publications including Bugle Magazine, American Hunter, Game and Fish Publications, Colorado Outdoors as well as used in calendars, postcards and for advertising. He is currently also marketing his images through a series of prints and a newly constructed website.
